2008Compuware promotes Robert C. Paul to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this promotion, Paul was President and Chief Operating Officer of Compuware Covisint. In his new role Paul leads the company's worldwide products and services operations, the organization's transformational Compuware 2.0 initiative and a number of other key functions, such as product management, marketing and communications, technical sales support, and recruiting, training and career development.
The company formally launches Compuware 2.0, along with the official introduction of its new global theme "We make IT rock around the world." Compuware 2.0 is a rebirth of the company based on the company's longstanding principles and—in particular—an increased focus on delivering quantifiable economic value to customers.

Compuware releases Changepoint 2009, the latest version of its market-leading IT portfolio management solution. The company also releases Abend-AID 11, which features an innovative web interface that helps leading IT organizations enable new mainframe talent to support vital systems.
Compuware announces that was positioned by Gartner Inc. in the "leaders" quadrant in the "Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management." The report evaluated 21 vendors on completeness of vision and ability to execute. The company receives Corp! Magazine's award for "Diversity-focused Company," based on the company's commitment to diversity—in race, ethnicity and more—as a business driver. Compuware DevPartner Studio Professional Edition wins the Visual Studio Magazine Readers Choice Award for "Performance, Profiling & Debugging" tool. Also, its Covisint subsidiary earned its third consecutive "Best Demonstration of Value/ROI" Innovation Award at the Healthcare IT Summit 2008.
Compuware acquires privately held Hilgraeve, Inc. of Monroe, Mich. This acquisition makes Compuware Covisint the world's largest on-demand collaboration platform for lab and prescription data sharing. Compuware also announces an agreement between Covisint and a public-private coalition in Minnesota—the Minnesota Health Information Exchange—to build one of the largest e-health exchanges in the nation. The company reaches a similar agreement with the Michigan Thumb Health Information System (THIS). Additionally, Compuware announces that Covisint will electronically connect doctors across Michigan via Michigan State Medical Society.
The company announces that AAA Michigan uses Compuware Vantage to proactively prevent problems and improve the end-to-end performance of its business-critical sales and service application. Compuware also announces that leading law firm Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersol, LLP joined several other high-profile law firms in turning to Compuware Vantage. Ballard Spahr uses Vantage to help maintain open communication channels for nearly 550 mobile lawyers.
Compuware acquires Proxima Technology's Centauri Business Service Manager. This solution is then integrated into Compuware's Vantage Service Manager, a business service management solution that enables organizations to optimize IT service delivery in accordance with business needs.

Compuware acquires SteelTrace of Dublin, Ireland. Renamed OptimalTrace, the product aligns application delivery to business needs through a structured, visual approach to the management of enterprise application requirements. Compuware also acquires ProviderLink of Cary, North Carolina, which supports paper-based healthcare organizations in interacting electronically with organizations of greater technology sophistication.
The company hosts its second annual Partner Summit at headquarters, providing hundreds of partners with comprehensive learning tracks that detail partner and customer successes and highlights collaboration between Compuware, its partners and their joint customers. Another Partner Summit is also held in China.
Compuware Covisint announces a three-year contract with Shanghai GM and hundreds of its suppliers based in Asia, North America, Europe and Latin America to provide messaging and integration services. General Motors also names Covisint a Tier 1 service provider as part of GM's 2006 IT re-sourcing initiative. Compuware extends its relationship with the Eclipse Foundation. With Eclipse Foundation, Compuware announces the creation of the Tools Services Framework (Corona) Project to be led by Compuware.

Compuware enters into a software, services and technology partnership with IBM and settles all outstanding litigation between the companies. The agreement states that IBM will enter into license and maintenance agreements for $140 million of Compuware software and offer Compuware $260 million of services opportunities.

Compuware acquires Adlex, Incorporated, which pioneered Service Delivery Management technology that enables Internet Service Providers and enterprise customers to diagnose and manage the quality of service that business-critical applications deliver to end users. This technology complements the Compuware Vantage product line by providing extremely high-capacity, agentless end-user experience monitoring and deep insight into application performance. Compuware enhances and launches strategic versions of many of its products and solutions, including CARS, Vantage, QACenter, Changepoint, OptimalJ, Strobe, DevPartner, Abend-AID, File-AID and Uniface.
Compuware acquires the products and technology of Covisint, LLC, the company whose solutions connect the global automotive industry. During the year, Covisint makes available two new services that enable companies to securely share information and business processes with their customers and suppliers—Covisint Identity Management and a lower-cost version of Covisint Communicate. Covisint also announces an agreement with General Motors to use Covisint Connect data messaging service. Under the agreement, more than 6,000 GM supplier manufacturing locations will use Covisint Connect.
Compuware OptimalJ has a big year, with the release of versions 3.1 and 3.2, and the debut of OJX, a next-generation, interactive Java development extravaganza held at Compuware's world headquarters. More than 1,000 developers and C-level attendees hear from Java visionaries from Compuware, Sun and BEA at this event.
Compuware acquires privately held Changepoint Corporation, whose IT governance and professional services automation solutions augment Compuware's ability to help CIOs effectively manage scarce resources to maximize the value IT brings to their business. Changepoint Version 8.01 (rebranded as Compuware Changepoint) wins the 2004 Well-Connected Award in the category of IT Portfolio Management Solutions by CMP Media LLC's Network Computing. Additionally, Compuware Changepoint wins "Best Solution" at the Gartner Project and Portfolio Management 2004 conference.
Compuware strengthens its Vantage product suite in many ways, including the acquisition of the technology assets of DevStream Corporation. The privately owned software company developed an advanced J2EE performance analysis product, later enhanced and released as Compuware Vantage Analyzer for J2EE. Additionally, Compuware announces the release of Vantage version 9.1, the first comprehensive solution to tie infrastructure management to service management, better aligning the use of IT resources with the requirements of the business.
Compuware announces two new DevPartner products—Compuware DevPartner Security Checker and Compuware DevPartner Fault Simulator. These products significantly extend the DevPartner product line's ability to detect and diagnose software security and quality errors in Microsoft-technology applications during the development process.
Compuware inks two strategic partnerships that will deliver the Compuware Application Reliability Solution (CARS) to a broader base of customers. The partnership with Sogeti, a premier provider of IT consulting services, is based on a combined quality management solution comprised Sogeti's Test Management Approach and CARS, called "CARS for Tmap®." The other partnership, with the Professional Services Group of Spherion Corporation, will deliver the Compuware Application Reliability Solution to Spherion customers. CARS also continues to grow with the release of version 4.1, which extends management-level visibility into quality assurance processes. CARS 4.1 also enables greater optimization when managing risk during application development and deployment. Compuware's Testing and Integration Center (TIC) undergoes an assessment against the Capability Maturity Model for Software and is rated at CMM Level 3. The TIC is Compuware's internal quality assurance organization, responsible for testing the integration between Compuware products and product families, as well as demonstrating how Compuware's products are used in a production environment.
In the company's 30th year of existence, Compuware completes construction on its new world headquarters building in downtown Detroit. More than 4,000 workers are based out of the facility, which unifies Compuware's Southeastern Michigan workforce and improves the company's operational efficiency.

Compuware enters into a technology agreement with AMD (NYSE: AMD) to add x86-64 support to Compuware SoftICE64. Compuware will provide the global supplier of integrated circuits with SoftICE64 to debug 64-bit device drivers. This agreement enables developers to more rapidly build software targeted for upcoming AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon processors, based on Hammer technology.

Before joining Compuware, White spent nearly eight years at Kelly Services, most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Administration and Technology Officer.
Network Computing names Compuware application profiling and troubleshooting software, Application Expert, "Product of the Year" in the network and application performance-management system category. Predictor, Compuware's software for predicting the impact of deploying a new application on the network, earns a position as finalist for the Network Computing 2001 Well-Connected Award. Predictor rounds out the year by winning the Network World Blue Ribbon Award for network design tool. Compuware's services group receives eHealthcare Leadership award for the design of a nationally utilized medical system's web site.
Compuware acquires e-business services firms BlairLake, Inc. (Kansas City, Missouri) and Nomex, Inc. (Montreal, Canada). These firms become Compuware Digital Development Centers, providing skilled artists, content specialists, technical experts and strategists to plan, create and deliver e-business services. An additional Compuware Digital Development Center is opened in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Compuware acquires the products of Optimal, an award-winning developer of e-business performance measurement tools. The addition of Optimal's products strengthens Compuware's EcoSYSTEMS software product line.

Compuware acquires Centura Software—makers of Xpediter—solidfying its leadership position in the interactive software debugging marketplace.
Compuware moves from its Southfield location to a new corporate headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The corporate headquarters will eventually contain a wellness center, sundry shop, day care and other amenities to attract and retain the best employees. Compuware launches its File-AID product line. Using a request-driven interface, developers are able to use File-AID products to quickly and easily find, create, extract, transfer, fix, convert, load, edit, age and compare data. This allows developers to focus on developing and maintaining applications that meet business needs.
Compuware opens its first remote office to service the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore area.
Compuware introduces Abend-AID, its first software product. Designed to detect bugs and suggest corrective action in corporate mainframe systems, Abend-AID is still a standard in a market with more than 8,000 copies currently in use. The release of Abend-AID establishes a product strategy for Compuware, alleviating the peaks and valleys of revenue that occur in the services business.
Peter Karmanos, Jr., Thomas Thewes and Allen B. Cutting establish Compuware Corporation. Their vision is to help people do things with computers by providing their clients with professional technical services, allowing them to focus on their own core businesses.
