Quick and Secure Data Erasure (FDRERASE)
Quickly and securely erases z/OS DASD data from disk volumes.
Useful at the end of a disaster recovery exercise when decommissioning a disk control unit; after re-assigning disk volumes; or when it is necessary to erase residual data to meet auditing requirements.
Has earned multiple industry certifications including the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS) evaluation and Common Criteria EAL2 Augmented validation for disk erasure. Complies with U.S. Government guidelines for erasing computer disks prior to disposal.

Tape Media Utilities (FATS/FATAR)
A highly functional tool for z/OS magnetic tape with features for secure data erasure for full or partial tape, tape mapping, tape error recovery, tape labeling, tape media certification and verification of legacy, historical, and archive tapes.
Supports stacking multiple data-sets on a single tape. When combined with FATSCOPY it can automate the process of periodically locating inefficient tape data sets and stacking them as consecutive files on fewer tape volumes.
Allows erasure of some or all data on a z/OS tape including the residual data that lies beyond the current “end-of-tape” marker.
