- Keynote session: Actionable steps to make Agile and DevOps work across the enterprise: What are you waiting for?
Thursday, 21 Nov | 09.00-10.00
Speaker: Chris O’Malley, CEO Compuware
Every company is a now software company, relying on IT to deliver digital experiences that delight customers. Successful companies are using Agile and DevOps practices to enable faster delivery, higher quality and lower risk—and ultimately to meet rising customer expectations. But many mainframe organizations mistakenly believe that transformative change is onerously difficult and only implement these practices within small groups, or worse, continue with the status quo.
In this keynote session, Compuware CEO Chris O’Malley will share insights, case studies and actionable steps to help enterprise IT embrace a DevOps journey, rather than fear it. The end result? A mainstreamed mainframe that thrives in a dynamic culture driven by Agile methods, a preferred, integrated DevOps toolchain and an unyielding effort towards continuous improvement.
- Breakout session: Pssst… – BATCH… Do you remember…?
Thursday, 21 Nov | 11.15-12.00
Speaker: Kim Mortensen
Batch has been around for a long time – Actually once BATCH was the only option. Today where everyone is talking about DevOps with a lot of focus on Dev – we will have a look at the Ops side of things. A lot of BATCH is running and even in your own shop today – 10 or even 100 thousand Batch jobs are running daily. SLA’s are set on your BATCH and running BATCH as efficient as possible is key.
In this session we will talk about BATCH, JES2, Schedulers and how a jobs gets read, validated, classified and executed. But is that good enough? Will your implementation of a Scheduler and a WLM Policy do the trick? Compuware’s ThruPut Manager is designed to help you automate and prepare jobs for efficient execution and reduce manual intervention. A BATCH Maturity model will be introduced and we will talk about how ThruPut Manager can help you archive your SLA’s and at the same time save some MSU’s…..
We welcome you to visit our booth in the exhibition area and learn how we can help you modernize your mainframe environment with easy to use solutions that enable Agile and DevOps practices on your mainframe platform.
