Subsystem and database support simplifies tasks in complex environments

  • Strobe for Java
  • Strobe for CICS
  • Strobe for DB2
  • Strobe for DB2 DDF
  • Strobe for IMS
  • Strobe for WebSphere MQ
  • Strobe for WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
  • Strobe for Advantage CA-IDMS
  • Strobe for ADABAS/NATURAL
  • Strobe for UNIX System Services
  • Strobe for Advantage Gen.

Strobe has several features that enable you to measure and analyze live application performance in environments with multiple subsystems and databases. Each feature is designed to pinpoint and help fix applications that are using excessive CPU time, wait time or system services specific to the environment:

  • Strobe for Java helps users improve the efficiency and responsiveness of online and batch applications that use Java. The Java feature captures the critical performance data in WebSphere, CICS, batch, and DB2 applications pinpointing the Java packages, classes and methods that are most resource-consumptive.
  • Strobe for CICS helps users improve transaction response times, reduce CPU consumption and improve overall region efficiency.
  • Strobe for DB2 works with Strobe MVS and helps users improve the performance of applications that use DB2.
  • Strobe for DB2 DDF provides users with the ability to identify SQL statements coming into DB2 via DB2 Distributed
Data Facility (DDF) that use significant CPU or have poor response time.
  • Strobe for IMS helps users manage the performance of both online and batch applications that use IMS.
  • Strobe for WebSphere MQ helps users understand and minimize their CICS, IMS and batch applications' use of WebSphere MQ resources.
  • Strobe for WAS helps users identify WebSphere activity by request including response times and invocation counts for EJBs, Servlets and JSPs as well as critical WebSphere environmental settings.
  • Strobe for Advantage CA-IDMS helps users improve the efficiency and responsiveness of online and batch applications that use Advantage CA-IDMS.
  • Strobe for ADABAS/NATURAL helps users improve the performance of online and batch applications that use ADABAS or are written in NATURAL.
  • Strobe for UNIX System Services enables user to improve the performance of UNIX System Services applications, whether they are internally developed or part of a third-party package.
  • Strobe for Advantage Gen enables users to deliver efficient and responsive Advantage Gen applications and maintain high standards of performance throughout their life-cycle.

With iStrobe you don't have to drill down through multiple levels of Strobe reports to find opportunities to improve performance. Now, summarized reports list the user program statements, system service routines, database calls and files consuming the most resources within the measured application.
