Mainframe applications testing from the desktop
Adding a Windows-based interface to mainframe-based application testing can significantly improve productivity and speed up testing. QAHiperstation+ extends the capabilities of QAHiperstation by providing GUI-based test analysis and results reporting from a workstation. Script creation
New scripts can be created by simply executing a previously recorded script using the Dubbing feature. This capability permits testers to easily add new transactions to a script, re-record existing screen images to a new script, or create a new baseline to prepare for the next iteration of testing.
Browse mainframe scripts
QAHiperstation+'s browsing feature saves valuable time in locating required information. It provides a script directory that displays a visual representation of the mainframe PDSs and members in a familiar tree-like structure, thereby simplifying the task of allocating QAHiperstation data sets, copying and re-naming QAHiperstation scripts and retrieving migrated data sets. It also allows you to view screens and keystrokes within a specific script by presenting a list of screens in the summary window. This saves time eliminating the tedious task of scanning through a PDS file to find the desired screen.
Script editor
QAHiperstation+'s edit function lets testers change scripts, screens and data using familiar Windows functions such as cut/copy/paste and drag/drop. It also permits existing data on the screen to be overtyped. Once all changes are completed, the script is re-written to the mainframe script PDS file. QAHiperstation+'s easy to use editing capabilities can increase staff productivity by reducing the time it takes to test applications and analyze results.
Mask fields
With QAHiperstation+, fields with expected mismatches that should be ignored can be masked so they are not compared again. Masking options include global and local masks. Masking increases productivity by eliminating unnecessary interruptions during test execution and analysis.
Test analysis
QAHiperstation+ provides a compare function for easy review and analysis of test results. The comparison presents both scripts side by side on the workstation screen so you can view any mismatches. In addition, QAHiperstation+ automatically generates a Compare Log during script execution, which summarizes the test results.
Integrated test management
In addition to its integration with QAHiperstation, QAHiperstation+ integrates with QADirector. With QADirector, test scripts created in QAHiperstation+ can be executed and the results automatically loaded into the QADirector repository. From QADirector, testers can link directly to the QAHiperstation+ side-by-side screen comparison and compare log to review detailed test results.
