Compuware Showcases Vantage Application Service Management Solution for Law Firms at LegalTech

Compuware to Sponsor LegalTech's CIO Forum Panel Discussion on "Managing Critical Applications to Increase Your Firm’s Efficiency"

DETROIT—January 29, 2007—Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced that it would showcase Compuware Vantage and its Application Service Management capabilities at the LegalTech conference, January 29-31, 2007, at the Hilton New York Hotel in New York City. Compuware will also sponsor a panel discussion on "Managing Critical Applications to Increase Your Firm’s Efficiency" at the CIO Forum, held concurrently with LegalTech.

"Law firm CIOs are challenged to provide the high level of application performance that lawyers and clients expect," said Craig Pratt, Director of Legal Industry Solutions, Compuware Corporation. "Compuware’s presence, expertise and sponsorship at LegalTech—the largest legal technology event—will help educate law firm IT organizations about Compuware’s innovative solutions designed to meet the specialized business needs of the legal field."

The Compuware-sponsored luncheon and panel discussion takes place on January 30, 2007, and features law firm CIOs discussing "Managing Critical Applications to Increase Your Firm’s Efficiency." The panel of IT executives includes Tracey Baetzel, Director of IS, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn; Michael Kolb, CIO, Dickinson Wright PLLC; Karen Levy, Managing Director, Kraft Kennedy and Lesser Inc.; and Thomas Oakes, Director of IT, McCarthy Tetrault LLP. These legal IT leaders will share their thoughts on the need for better management of application performance and availability and will also detail IT changes that can increase efficiency and add value for the firm. The panel will additionally participate in an interactive Q&A session with the audience.

"As law firms become increasingly dependent on technology, maintaining the availability and performance of core applications becomes critical. Law firms are now taking a proactive approach to monitoring and maintenance, implementing new roles, procedures and tools that allow IT to respond to, and potentially resolve, issues before they reach the Help Desk," said Karen Levy, Managing Director, Kraft Kennedy & Lesser, Inc. "Over the next two years, firms who investigate the value of proactively measuring end-user experience will move their firm to the next level in servicing their clients. Application Service Management is the cornerstone of that strategy, which is why I am excited to be a part of a panel at the CIO Forum discussing how firms can best leverage this technology and approach."

"Lawyers operate under time constraints, and when there is an issue and client dependency on that product, if those services are not available that’s unrecoverable revenue," said Michael Kolb, CIO, Dickinson Wright PLLC. "With notification through the products that we use through Compuware, we’re able to diagnose those issues before it becomes mission-critical for lawyers to get their work product out."
