Compuware to Present Business Requirements Management Seminars in Major Cities Globally
Attendees to Learn IT Best Practices for Becoming More Effective at Capturing Business NeedsDETROIT--September 12, 2006--Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced that it is offering seminars for IT executives in major cities around the world regarding business requirements management. Titled the "Business Requirements Management Executive Seminar Series," the interactive, educational events will take place in approximately 30 North American, European, Asian and Latin American cities, beginning on September 19, in New York City. The need for better requirements management and definition is well-known. In fact, CIO Magazine recently reported that ineffective requirements are the cause of up to 71 percent of IT project failures. CIO-at-Large Michael Hugos will headline the series, providing his vision on Agile IT and focusing on the importance of business requirements management. Hugos is an award-winning leader in requirements management, who has been recognized by major IT publications--including CIO Magazine, Informationweek and Computerworld--for his work. He earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business and has authored several books. In addition to hearing from Hugos, attendees will learn about real-world challenges and successes and participate in a Q&A discussion. Additionally, Compuware experts will discuss the most common requirements challenges that organizations face. The Executive Seminar Series will extend the knowledge of managers, vice presidents and CIOs of development as they bring together the needs of the business with the IT department "More than ever, IT leaders are expected to proactively engage with the business to identify, define and deliver high-impact applications," said Larry Angeli, Vice President of Marketing for Compuware. "This seminar series will help IT and business leaders make sure that collaboration and the underlying follow-through happen in the best and most efficient way possible." Forrester Research analyst Carey Schwaber, in her September, 2006, report The Root of the Problem: Poor Requirements, commented on the need for better requirements management and definition, stating: "…it’s the rare IT organization that couldn’t improve its requirements practices." The seminar, which includes dinner, is free to qualified attendees. Those interested can find more information at http://www.compuware.com/events/832_ENG_HTML.htm#brm.
