Merial Selects Changepoint For Corporate IT

Changepoint will enable management to prioritize and manage all IT services

TORONTO--September 22, 2003--Changepoint Corporation, a leading provider of business process automation software for global services organizations and corporate IT departments, today announced that Merial, a leading animal health company, will deploy Changepoint's solution to facilitate managing its IT department. Merial is a joint venture of Merck & Co., Inc. and Aventis, S.A.

The Merial North American Information Services Team provides applications and infrastructure to support Merial's business enterprises, which provide a comprehensive range of pharmaceuticals, vaccines and other products for a wide range of animals. Prior to Changepoint, the IT organization needed automated systems and processes for gathering service requests and managing resource deployment across the organization. The Changepoint application will be used to manage and provide visibility into all aspects of service requests.

"Our key challenge was a need for visibility across the organization as to how our resources were deployed. We chose Changepoint because it provides the broadest range of functionality, enabling us to manage non-project and project-based work for a comprehensive approach to prioritizing and managing services now and in the future," said Ron Townsend, Senior Director of Merial's America's Information Services, Merial. "We expect this visibility will ensure we are working on the most critical needs of the business, while improving resource utilization and operational efficiency."

"Changepoint provides complete business process management for corporate IT departments offering visibility across critical non-project, request-driven and project-based work. Consideration for all the work of an IT department is a critical element of effectively managing IT value, aligning with the business, and managing IT governance," said Paul Lupinacci, VP Product & Customer Management, Changepoint.
