Compuware Appoints Dennis W. Archer to Board of Directors
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- January 7, 2002 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced that Dennis W. Archer, the former mayor of the city of Detroit and current chairperson of the law firm of Dickinson Wright, has joined its board of directors. In addition to his business, legal and political skills, Dennis is well known for the passion and integrity he will bring to this role." Dennis Archer was born on January 1, 1942 in Detroit. He received a bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University, to which he added a J.D. from Detroit College of Law in 1970. Mr. Archer served as mayor of Detroit from January 1, 1994 to December 31, 2001, earning national and international acclaim for his success in improving Detroit’s image, direction and business climate. Mr. Archer also served the state of Michigan as an associate justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. Ebony magazine has honored Mr. Archer as one the 100 Most Influential Black Americans. He is also currently on the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association (ABA) and chairs its Finance Committee. Mr. Archer is unopposed in his bid for the office of president elect of the ABA.
