Vantage 8.0 Provides Front-to-Back Monitoring and Troubleshooting of Highly Distributed .NET Applications

NEW ORLEANS -- April 9, 2002 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced at the Microsoft Tech*Ed 2002 Conference (Booth #211) its comprehensive .NET application performance solution. Vantage 8.0 provides a front-to-back application management solution designed to help customers deploy .NET applications with confidence and to proactively manage performance in this highly challenging environment.

Vantage 8.0 Provides Diagnostic and Management Capabilities

Vantage 8.0 provides new diagnostic and management capabilities to help companies deploy .NET applications quickly and reliably. The network analysis capabilities of NetworkVantage and Application Vantage have been enhanced to identify and analyze SOAP and XML traffic, which provide the underpinnings of .NET applications. ServerVantage now provides pre-configured monitoring rules for the .NET servers that incorporate Microsoft-recommended best practices for performance management. The new ClientVantage product completes the front-to-back solution by monitoring application response times, performance and availability from the end-user perspective. VantageView 8.0 provides an integrated web console that allows all the components of .NET application performance to be brought together in a central location.

Identifying Poor Performance

Another critical issue in performance analysis is dissecting a poorly performing transaction and understanding exactly what component of the transaction is degrading the overall performance. The new payload view in ApplicationVantage provides immediate visual recognition of the content of various application conversations carried out via SOAP and XML as well as a comprehensive inventory of other application protocols.

Availability

ClientVantage, NetworkVantage, ServerVantage, Application Vantage are available immediately. Two additional products, Application Expert and Predictor are scheduled for general availability this month.
