Compuware Presents End-to-End Application Performance at Worldwide Road Show

Tour of 21 Cities and 12 Countries Features Gartner Research Analysts; Spotlights Best Practices for Application Development, Testing and Management

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- May 10, 2001 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced it will feature Gartner (Nasdaq: IT) in a 21-city, 12-country worldwide seminar series entitled "Predict and Troubleshoot Application Performance." The seminar series is designed for IT professionals--including developers, testers and operations staff--who are responsible for how well their applications support their organizations’ business goals. Compuware is an award-winning, industry leader in providing software and services for enterprise-wide application development, testing and life cycle performance management.

Each half-day seminar will feature a presentation by a Gartner senior research analyst focusing on how organizations can design and implement best practices for managing the performance of the application across the life cycle. The seminar will cite detailed case studies of successfully implemented application management programs by leading businesses, as well as success stories from other leading global businesses, including LensCrafters, Haworth Furniture, UtiliCorp United, Scottish Life International and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

Gartner will discuss the challenges for implementing successful application performance management models. These models drive solutions for building service level agreements; conducting pre-production testing and analysis, performing application troubleshooting in server, database, and networking environments and carrying out transaction analysis and capacity planning. Application experts from Compuware will focus on the critical success factors that enable IT professionals to deliver, test and manage high-performing applications.

"Gartner’s expertise, coupled with the breadth of experience from Compuware, enables participants to leave knowing they have heard from respected and proven voices in application performance management," said Jim Duggan, Vice President and Research Area Director, Gartner Group. "IT professionals will leave the seminar with a blueprint of how to implement the best application testing, performance and troubleshooting techniques to fit their enterprise."

The seminars are free of charge and will be held in numerous cities in North America including San Jose, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, Minneapolis, Chicago, Columbus, Toronto and Washington, D.C. European and International seminar locations include Paris, Munich, London, Sao Paulo, Caracas, Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Melbourne and Sydney.

"Compuware welcomes the opportunity to share its long-standing expertise and knowledge in the application performance arena with IT professionals worldwide," said Joe Nathan, President and Chief Operating Officer, Compuware Corporation.
