Compuware Corporation Announces Preliminary Financial Results

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- July 3, 2001 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced preliminary financial results for its quarter ended June 30, 2001. Compuware estimates its fiscal 2002 first quarter revenues will be approximately $445 million, compared with the consensus analyst estimate of $460 million. Earnings per share (diluted computation before amortization expense) are expected to be 11 or 12 cents, exceeding the consensus estimate of 10 cents. The company expects software new license revenue to be about $95 million, compared with the consensus estimate of $100 million. Maintenance revenue is expected to be $110 million, compared with the consensus estimate of $112 million. Revenue from Compuware's Professional Services Division will be approximately $240 million, compared with the consensus estimate of $247 million.
