Compuware's Performance Testing Tools Win International Editor's Choice Award for Web Software Tools

QACenter Performance Edition Bests All Other Competitors with "Unmatched Functionality"

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- September 27, 2001 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) announced today that Natverk & Kommunikation, an IDG publication based in Sweden, has named Compuware's performance testing solution, QACenter Performance Edition, as "Editor's Choice" in a report titled "QA Tools for the Web." The award-winning Compuware solution was matched against those of several other vendors, including Mercury Interactive, Rational Software, Radview Software and Sweden-based Innovative-IT.

In the report, available on the QACenter web pages , editors said that QACenter Performance Edition is an "enterprise-class test and monitoring tool, and there is no doubt that it is the most capable product in this test." Natverk & Kommunikation rated each tool based on five categories, including server monitoring, documentation, compatibility, software features, and the interface/operation of the tool.

Of the five categories, Performance Edition earned three excellent ratings and two good ratings. Additionally, it was named "unbeatable in monitoring and in operation," and scored the highest overall rating. In the server monitoring category, where Performance Edition received an excellent rating, Natverk & Kommunikation noted that Compuware's solution "monitors everything, everywhere. All the time."

"This worldwide recognition is a strong statement confirming, via an independent voice, what we've been saying all along about QACenter Performance Edition--that we have the absolute best web performance technology from any vendor…period," said Jay Holmstrom, Director of Product Management for Compuware's QACenter family of ASQ products. "Since this review, we've made this best-in-class performance solution even better. And, when our hosted testing solutions and 8,000-strong services division is considered, Compuware's mix of application performance options is even more convincing."
