Compuware Corporation Announces Preliminary Financial Results

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- October 2, 2001 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced preliminary financial results for its quarter ended September 30, 2001. Compuware estimates its fiscal 2002 second quarter revenues will be in a range of $420-$426 million. Earnings per share (diluted computation before amortization expense) are expected to be in a range of 9 to 11 cents. Analyst estimates for EPS in Compuware's second quarter range from 9 cents to 12 cents, with a consensus of 11 cents.

Compuware expects software new license revenue to be $85-$88 million. Maintenance revenue for the quarter is expected to be $108-$109 million. Revenue from Compuware's Professional Services Division should be in a range of $226-$229 million.
