Compuware Announces Comprehensive Strategy for Supporting the Microsoft .NET Platform
Teams with Microsoft to Deliver Professional Services, Products for Developing, Testing and Managing Microsoft .NET Applications
LOS ANGELES. -- October 22, 2001 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) announced today at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference (booth # 121) a comprehensive strategy for supporting the Microsoft .NET platform. This strategy, which encompasses Compuware's professional services and products, is designed to provide the staffing expertise and products to help IT organizations develop and deploy reliable, scalable and high performing Microsoft .NET applications. As a Microsoft Global Partner, Compuware will team with Microsoft to provide these products and services to enterprise accounts worldwide. The Compuware Professional Services organization has already begun assisting enterprises with the development of Microsoft .NET applications. As part of its partnership with Microsoft, over 100 professional services staff have undergone training on the Microsoft .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET with hundreds more scheduled to follow. This training enables Compuware staff to rapidly design and develop Web services applications. Compuware DevPartner Studio will be extended to provide code analysis, error detection, profiling and coverage analysis for .NET applications. Additionally, Compuware DevPartnerDB will enable developers to build, test and monitor stored procedures. Compuware QACenter will be engineered to allow for test management and functional testing of .NET applications. Enhancements will also be made to Compuware QACenter Performance Edition so that it will validate that XML Web services and Microsoft .NET applications can scale and perform to business requirements before these services are implemented with mission critical applications. Compuware's performance management and availability solutions, enhanced for .NET with support for SOAP and XML, will enable operations teams to effectively manage distributed applications in production with performance metrics gathered from the network and Microsoft .NET enterprise servers. Compuware will be previewing some of these products at the Microsoft Professional Developer's Conference. Products to be previewed include DevPartner Code Review, which analyzes Visual Basic source code and includes over 60 rules for migration Visual Basic code to Visual Basic .NET; the DevPartner Profiler for analyzing Microsoft .NET applications developed using VB .NET, C# and ASP .NET; DevPartnerDB Debugger for Oracle; Visual Studio Edition for analyzing and debugging PL/SQL from within Microsoft Visual Studio .NET; TestPartner for reliability testing and QALoad for stress testing applications.
