Detroit Medical Center Web Site Earns Two eHealthcare Leadership Awards

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- November 26, 2001 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced that their design and development of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) web site, www.dmc.org, recently won DMC two eHealthcare Leadership Awards at the Sixth Annual Healthcare Internet and Technology Conference in Las Vegas. DMC was presented with two platinum awards--the highest award achievable--for "Best Overall Internet Site" and "Best Interactive Site" in the healthcare system classification. The site was recognized for its groundbreaking achievement in the creation, development and execution of its e-health information site.

"Without the hard work and dedication of Compuware's professional services team, these awards wouldn't have been possible," said Don Ragan, DMC Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. "We wanted our web site to be more than just a health and medical resource. Our goal was to provide visitors with an interactive experience that would keep them coming back. Compuware made that happen and we are honored to receive these awards in recognition of this."

Compuware professional services launched the redesign of dmc.org in March 2001. The site gives users access to health and medical information in a highly interactive environment that's easy to navigate. One of the unique features the site offers is the "Find a Doctor" physician referral service that links users to more than 3,000 doctors affiliated with DMC. Users can select a physician by city and area of specialty, as well as request a specific gender or foreign language preference of a doctor. The site also offers online appointment scheduling, a health resources library, community involvement information, daily e-newsletters as well as online access to other DMC hospitals and affiliates.

"This recognition is a great accomplishment for DMC and Compuware," said Tommi White, Chief Operating Officer, Compuware Corporation. "This demonstrates Compuware's ability to bring value to its clients and enable them to meet their business objectives through high quality, interactive e-business solutions."

Since the redesign, visits to dmc.org have more than doubled and users say the site is easier to use.

In December 2001, Compuware will add an online bill payment feature to the site, as well as an employee and physician portal. In 2002, a patient portal will be implemented using Compuware's OptimalView portal solution.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards are sponsored by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, the leading Internet publication and online resource. More than 700 entrants in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries competed for the awards. Award finalists were judged on content, design, structure, navigation, performance and interactivity. Web sites were rated based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compared with others in their classification.
