Compuware Earns Network World's Blue Ribbon Award for Best Network Design Tool

Vantage 8.0 Suite's Network Performance Tool--Predictor--Receives Top Rating Over Four Competitors

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- December 13, 2001 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced that Predictor (formerly EcoPREDICTOR), the leading solution for complete WAN provisioning and growth management, received the highly coveted Blue Ribbon Award from Network World magazine. A key component of Compuware's Vantage 8.0 application performance management suite, Predictor was named "the network tool of choice" and cited for its "intuitive user interface and integration with Compuware's NetworkVantage (formerly EcoSCOPE) and many third-party products." NetworkVantage provides topology and traffic from production--enabling Predictor to quickly and easily build a network model.

Compuware received the highest rated test score from among five participants, including Microsoft, Visionael, NetRule and Didyma. Predictor received the top award based on six criteria, including discovery, design and simulation, reports, ease of use, platforms, documentation and installation.

Network World Global Test Alliance member Barry Nance said, "Predictor's calculations told us accurately how the proposed changes would affect the network, and the tool's reports did a good job of depicting the nature of those changes." In addition, Nance noted, "Furthermore, Predictor offered the widest choice of topology and traffic import sources of all the products we tested." Those products included networking tools from Aprisma, Castle Rock Computing, Computer Associates, Hewlett-Packard, Tivoli, Agilent and Network Associates.
