Compuware's New Release of File-AID/CS Reports Changes in Navigational Structure of Web Sites

Latest Addition to Data Management Workbench Speeds E-commerce Projects

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- April 3, 2000 -- Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR) today announced the availability of its latest release of File-AID/CS, a comprehensive data management tool for developers that saves time and reduces the skill level required to perform daily test data management tasks. The new release features enhanced Compare and Edit facilities for related data.

The enhanced Related Compare facility can help customers testing e-commerce applications quickly compare data from one or more tables; the report can then be printed or published to a web site. With the enhanced Related Edit support, users can specify the parent table and then view and edit related child tables. The new features will help companies like Mobile Information Systems, a software solution provider for the transportation industry, speed development of their e-commerce efforts.

Enhanced Related Compare

When comparing related data, developers can use File-AID/CS to compare the differences between two relational tables, database schemas or ASCII file reports. Related tables are grouped and easily compared, saving time required for cumbersome hand-coding methods. Furthermore, File-AID/CS now works in conjunction with Compuware's QARun and WebCheck products to report changes in the navigational structure of a web site. By using WebCheck Site Checks, developers can compare data compiled for web sites and can display all compare types in an HTML report format.

Enhanced Related Edit

This latest release of File-AID/CS also provides spreadsheet-like access for directly editing or viewing database tables based on the table structure defined in the database catalog or UNIX flat files for a COBOL record layout. When editing related tables, a single click brings up information for all rows related to the driving tables.
