File AID/Express Enterprise and File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft Power Data Conversion and Integration for Enterprise Applications

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- November 13, 2000 -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced the availability of File-AID/Express Enterprise and File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft, two products designed to power complex data transformations and consolidation in the development environment. They are the latest addition to the Compuware File-AID product line, an enterprise-wide data management workbench.

File-AID/Express Enterprise and File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft automate and simplify data conversion and integration between applications and computing environments. By providing a standardized approach to data transformation, these products help eliminate the hidden costs of data migration and integration when deploying new applications. This allows organizations to implement ERP, CRM, EAI and other applications faster and more reliably.

Application developers can quickly design complex transformations of data from multiple sources and targets using a common graphical user interface and XML metadata repository. By graphically reducing the underlying complexity of heterogeneous data and eliminating traditional manual programming, File-AID/Express Enterprise and File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft simplify the design, execution and documentation of the transformation process.

Supporting Enterprise Application Integration with File-AID/Express Enterprise

File-AID/Express supports enterprise application integration initiatives. It moves existing data from legacy systems to assist in e-business implementation and facilitates the integration of non-relational data with a relational database management system. Using File-AID/Express Enterprise, developers can: handle multiple inputs and outputs present in many applications, extract, transform and load S/390 data types between VSAM, DB2, IMS, sequential and XML data and create temporary and permanent interfaces between new and existing applications. Data can also be migrated between the S/390 data types and distributed data types including Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 UDB or Sybase relational databases.

Managing PeopleSoft Data with File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft

File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft streamlines the data migration process even for highly customized PeopleSoft implementations. It efficiently reads data from legacy sources, performs complex transformations, validations and cleansing and loads data directly to the PeopleSoft database. It also provides the necessary interfaces for data to be periodically exchanged with other source or target applications. With File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft, developers approach data transformation by business activity--the same way they interact with PeopleSoft--browse the business activities, panel groups, panels and sub-panels to choose which business processes to work with first, and see the actual customized installation, not a generic template.

File-AID/Express for PeopleSoft is currently certified for PeopleSoft 7.5. Compuware participated in PeopleSoft's Early Integration Program for PeopleSoft 8 and plans to be PeopleSoft 8 certified by the end of 2000.
