Compuware Receives American Express Supplier Excellence Award

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- July 24, 2000 -- Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR) announced today it has received an American Express Supplier Excellence Award for 1999. It is the second year in a row that American express has recognized Compuware for providing outstanding service in Information Technology.

American Express utilizes the services of 24,000 suppliers nationwide. Of that number, only 67 were recognized for excellence. In the consulting/services arena, Compuware was one of only four companies chosen for the honor.

Compuware received its award for the company's ability to provide American Express with overall solutions at a national level, quality resources with expertise in the latest technologies and philosophies and project management capabilities that delivered expected results on time and within budget. Specifically, Compuware assisted American Express with restructuring its Membership Rewards program to improve program economics and enhance customer appeal, prototyped a global procurement web site, re-wrote the Card Acceptance Units system, created a marketing database that will be accessible through the Internet and conducted various Y2K testing and remediation projects.
