Compuware Announces New Business-to-Business Website for Lee Apparel
Site is a First for Lee; Provides Retailers Comprehensive Product Ordering Services
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- March 20, 2000 -- Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR) announced today the introduction of LeeSource.com, a business-to-business web site for Lee Apparel. LeeSource.com was created to give Lee retailers easy access to Lee products. Along with its 24-hour availability and easy ordering process, LeeSource.com provides shipping status, detailed product images and product recommendations. Retailers can also visit LeeSourceDemo.com to learn the ins and outs of the online ordering process. By the end of March, the site's "Build-a-Store" function will be available, which will allow retailers to order a variety of Point-of-Purchase display products. The site was developed by Compuware's Digital Development Center, located in Kansas City. The Digital Development Center also developed a portal for Lee Apparel, which allows their diverse audiences to enter any of Lee Apparel's five sites (each created by the Digital Development Center) and view an extensive, database-driven online catalog, containing more than 500 products. "We've had a very successful working relationship with Compuware's Digital Development Center for some time," said Nancy McDonald, interactive communications manager for Lee Apparel. "E-commerce holds a lot of opportunities for manufacturers like us. For e-commerce to work well--for our company, our retailers and our consumers--the best e-commerce solution must bring together back-end fulfillment and information systems with customer-facing applications in ways that are scalable, accessible and easy for anyone to use. That's the kind of solution Compuware delivers. We look forward to working with them in the future." "LeeSource.com pushes Compuware to another level in providing e-commerce solutions for our clients," said Julia Schneider, Account Supervisor at Compuware's Digital Development Center. "We've built a system where anyone, from large retailers to local stores, can order Lee Jeans quickly and easily. There isn't a more efficient way for retailers to buy Lee." "Many companies talk about delivering business-to-business e-commerce solutions, but few have the resources or experience that Compuware has to deliver on the promise," said Larry Freed, Vice President of Compuware Divisional Practices. "The Leesource.com site is a very good example of how Compuware continues to deliver sound and effective e-commerce solutions that unite web, client/server and legacy resources."
