Downtown's Newest Mural Arrives at Compuware Headquarters

DETROIT, June 1, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company, will welcome the installation of downtown's newest mural Friday.

And it's not just any mural. This artwork was created by hundreds of hands that belong to students from Bright Horizons Day Care, Detroit's Central High School, Compuware personnel, Quicken Loan employees and community members. They were supervised by artists Halima Cassells, of the Detroit Mural Factory, and Chazz Miller, of Public Art Workz.

The 500-square-foot work celebrates the resilience of Detroit, and will be installed permanently in the employee entrance to the building.

A celebration of the mural's completion will be held Friday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with special photo sessions at 12 noon and 4 p.m. The mural's location is along the building's new entrance hallway off of Gratiot Avenue.

This project was spearheaded by Megan Heeres, curator for public art and gardens at Compuware.
