Supporting workplace diversity

Compuware offers many opportunities for its employees to explore and celebrate in the diversity of our workforce.  For example, Compuware supports:

Employee Resource Groups

Employee resource groups, initiated by employees and supported by Compuware, are created around an aspect of common social identity.  The ERGs serve as a liaison to the company from the employee constituencies, and bring value to Compuware through recruitment, cultural exchange and community outreach.  Participants enjoy networking, professional development and community involvement opportunities, and help support Compuware business objectives.

Active ERGs at the Compuware Detroit office represent the African America, Latin American, Chinese, and Asian Indian communities. Major festivals of each group, such as Diwali, Kwanzaa, Lunar (Chinese) New Year, are recognized in the workplace.   Language, dance, music and customs are shared in lectures, lunch-and-learn and other enrichment programs.

Voices Book Club

Compuware Voices enhances our understanding of diverse cultures and experiences by recognizing monthly national heritage designations.  Each month the Voices Book Club recommends books about a different group in our community.  This online book club features new books, classics, fiction and non-fiction recommended by the professional staff of the Detroit Public Library, Borders Books and Compuware employees themselves.

Internships and Student Programs

Compuware offers a variety of opportunities for students and future technology professionals worldwide.  For example:

Detroit Cass Tech High School Internship Program
Compuware offers an opportunity for Cass Tech seniors to work as summer interns.  Students can earn college scholarship funds, the opportunity to work as interns during their college years…and potentially full-time employment at Compuware.

Summer Internship Program
Compuware casts a wide net to recruit interns from a variety of backgrounds in order to build an inclusive, creative team of interns, and possible future employees.

BDPA
Recognizing the importance of creating a new generation of IT professionals, and of supporting our local schools, Compuware sponsors a team of high school students in the annual national BDPA (Black Data Processing Associates) computer competition. Compuware and BDPA have had a long and mutually beneficial relationship that supports the professional goals of African Americans in IT.
