Benefits for Salaried U.S. Employees

Benefits for Salaried U.S. Employees

Compuware supports U.S. full-time, salaried employees with comprehensive benefits that help to balance their professional and personal lives.  Employees are eligible to participate in Compuware’s standard comprehensive benefit program on the first day of employment.  Compuware’s standard benefit program includes medical, dental, life insurance, disability insurance and ESOP/401(K).  Additionally, employees may enroll their eligible dependents (including same-sex domestic partners) in medical and dental on their first day.  The month following employment, the Compuware FlexCare plan offers employees the opportunity to customize their benefits to meet their individual needs.  During the FlexCare enrollment period, employees may change coverage levels for medical care, life or disability insurance; create tax-free health or dependent care flexible spending account; or buy vision, accidental death and dismemberment, group legal and dependent life insurance coverage as described below.

Medical/Prescription Benefits

Compuware provides medical coverage through a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO): Humana Choice Care network for Wisconsin resident employees and all other employees nationwide through Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Standard medical plan
The Standard medical plan offers a PPO network, which generally covers in-network physician office visits for a $20 co-payment, and in-network hospitalization and lab work at 80 percent and in-network routine preventive care at 100 percent.  Annual in-network deductibles are $300 individual and $600 per family.  In-network provides the highest level of coverage at the lowest cost.  When preferred providers are unavailable or employees choose out-of-network services, the plan generally provides 60 percent coverage, after the annual deductible has been met ($600 individual or $1,200 family).  Prescription drug coverage is automatically included with enrollment in the Standard medical plan.  Employees pay a modest portion of the premium through payroll deduction.

High medical plan
Through the FlexCare plan, employees may also choose to increase their coverage by selecting the High medical plan.  The High medical plan offers the highest potential level of coverage and the same PPO network as the Standard medical plan.  The High medical plan generally covers in-network physician office visits for a $10 co-payment, in-network hospitalization and lab work at 90 percent and in-network routine preventive care at 100 percent.  Annual in-network deductibles are $200 individual and $400 per family.  When preferred providers are unavailable or employees choose out-of-network services, the plan generally provides 70 percent coverage, after an annual deductible has been met ($300 individual or $600 family).  Prescription drug coverage is automatically included with enrollment in the High medical plan.  Employees pay a portion of the premium through payroll deduction.

Medical opt-out option
Employees who are already covered by another medical plan, such as a spouse’s plan, can elect to opt-out/waive medical coverage during FlexCare enrollment.  Think carefully before choosing the opt-out/waive option.  Medical elections are binding for the entire plan year and cannot be changed unless a qualifying life event occurs.

Dental

Compuware’s dental plan is offered through CIGNA Dental.  Preventative services are covered at 100 percent with no deductible. Fillings and simple extractions are covered at 80 percent after the annual deductible ($25 individual or $50 family); crowns, dentures, bridges and partials are generally covered at 50 percent after satisfying the annual deductible. The annual maximum benefit is $1,000 per individual. Orthodontics services are covered at 50 percent with a lifetime maximum benefit of $1,000 per individual. Employees may also choose to waive dental coverage.  Employees will pay a small portion of the premium through payroll deduction.

Health Flexible Spending Account (Health FSA)

Compuware provides up to $300 a year (pro-rated on a monthly basis at $25 per month) for new hires to their Health FSA to help defray eligible health care expenses not covered by health insurance.  Combined employee and Compuware Health FSA contribution is limited to $5,000 pre-tax annually.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (Dependent Care FSA)

Employees may contribute, on a pre-tax basis; up to $5,000 annually for reimbursement of eligible dependent care (child and elder care) expenses.

Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Compuware provides life and accidental death benefits equal to two times an employee's annual base salary. Employees may also purchase additional individual life insurance, life insurance for eligible dependents, or accidental death and dismemberment insurance for themselves and/or their eligible dependents.

Disability Insurance

After completing 90 days of employment, employees who are unable to work due to total disability are eligible to receive short-term disability benefits equal to 100% of their monthly base salary for the first 30 days of disability and 66 2/3% of their monthly base salary for the 31st through the 180th day of disability. Long-term disability benefits begin on the 181st day of continuous disability and equal 60% of the employee's monthly base salary, to a maximum of $10,000 per month. Long-term disability coverage may also be enhanced through FlexCare enrollment.

Vision

Through Flexcare enrollment, employees may choose to participate in vision coverage, with half of the premium funded by Compuware.  Coverage includes in-network services such as eye exams and prescription lenses with low co-payments, frames, contact lenses, etc.

Legal

Employees may purchase group legal coverage that provides unlimited access to routine in-network legal services such as wills, codicils, trusts, identity theft defense, document preparation and real estate matters.

Global Employee Stock Purchase Plan (GESPP)

Designed to provide Compuware employees worldwide with the opportunity to share in the success of the company through equity ownership, this plan provides employees with convenient access to Compuware stock at discounted share prices, low transaction fees and favorable tax treatment where available.

401(k)

Compuware offers a 401(k) plan to employees who have completed one hour of service for Compuware.  Contributions to the Plan can be made up to 75% of compensation on a pre-tax basis (up to the annual IRS limits) and 10% on an after-tax basis.  Employees have access to their Fidelity 401(k) account virtually any time through the web and voice response system.  There are no limits on the movement of funds from one investment choice to another.

Time-off

All non-billable and billable employees are offered vacation time based on length of service, personal and sick time, within reason, and Compuware's seven standard holidays.

Vacation Time—Non-Billable Employees
Vacation time will be immediately available at the beginning of each fiscal year (April 1) and will not accrue on a monthly or yearly basis.  The amount of vacation an employee will be eligible for in their first year of employment will depend upon their date of hire during the fiscal year.  Employees with less than five years of service will have up to two weeks of vacation time per year.  After completing five years of service, employees will have up to three weeks of vacation time per year.

Vacation time should be arranged with your manager in advance. Non-billable employees cannot carry over their vacation balances into the next fiscal year. Vacation time not used by fiscal year end or at the time of separation will not be paid out, except where required by law. Employees may not end employment with vacation.

Vacation Time—Billable Employees
Vacation accrues on a monthly basis for billable employees. Accrual is based on the length of service of the employee as follows:

  • Less than five (5) years of service: 6.67 hours per month (2 weeks per year).
  • Beginning at five (5) years of service: 10 hours per month (3 weeks per year).

Employees who begin employment with Compuware by the 15th of the month will receive the full vacation accrual for that month. Employees who begin employment after the 15th of the month will receive half credit for that month. (Note: The reverse is true for any employee who terminates his or her employment.)

Vacation time is to be arranged in advance with your Compuware manager. Billable employees may carry over vacation balances into the next fiscal year. This includes both positive and negative balances. Any accrued, unused vacation will be paid out if an employee separates from the company. An employee who has a negative balance at the time of separation will be required to repay that amount. Employees may not end employment on vacation.

Personal and Sick Time
Non-billable and billable employees are eligible to take a reasonable amount of personal and sick time. Personal time should be arranged in advance with management when possible. (Note: The amount of personal and sick time taken may impact a billable employees' eligibility for the 100% bonus.).

Holidays
Compuware will offer seven standard holidays for all employees: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.  Billable employees may be eligible for certain client recognized holidays.

Employee Referral Bonus

An employee may be eligible to receive a bonus for a referral that results in a professional or managerial level salaried hire.
