Compuware to Participate in Debate Session on End-User Experience Monitoring at Interop Las Vegas 2012 Conference

DETROIT, May 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company, today announced that Ron Wilson, Director of Product Management for Compuware's Application Performance Management (APM) business unit, will participate in a debate session titled: "User Experience: Monitor the Network or Monitor the Application?" at the Interop Las Vegas 2012 Conference. The debate — also including executives from AppDynamics and NetScout — will examine how to best gauge end-user experience.

Session Title:User Experience: Monitor the Network or Monitor the Application?
When: Thursday, May 10, 2012
Time: 9 a.m. Pacific time
Where:Interop Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay, Lagoon J
What: There has been a lot of discussion recently about assuring the user experience. While many
vendors claim an ability to monitor and report on the user experience, the question is what
vantage point provides the most relevant view into what a user is actually experiencing?
Does looking at synthetic transactions that are meant to "replicate" a user transaction
provide such a view? Or does looking at how applications perform across multiple tiers
within the data center represent a user experience perspective?

The panelists on this session will take opposing views on the question of how best to
assure the user experience and will provide attendees with the information they need to
determine what makes the most sense in their environment.

Speaker: Ron Wilson is Director of Product Management for Compuware's APM business unit and
has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry across the software, management
consulting, financial services, healthcare, government, consumer products, retail and
  service provider segments.
