Media Alert: Cyclists on Saturday Will Turn Campus Martius Into a Center of Fitness, Music and Fun

 

DETROIT, July 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Participants in one of metro Detroit's premier cycling events will take over Campus Martius in downtown Detroit Saturday, offering various coverage opportunities.

Cyclists, organizers and young fundraisers will gather for the Compuware Corporation Motor City Bike Ride that benefits Danialle Karmanos' Work It Out, which brings a yoga-based health program to Detroit school children.

Riders will depart at 9 a.m. and cycle to Metro Beach in Harrison Township, returning to Campus Martius starting about 1:30 p.m. for a barbeque, with music provided by DJ Pannos. Starting about 11 a.m., Oakland County students who raised money for Danialle Karmanos' Work It Out will enjoy a picnic and compete in fun events. The post-cycling party will end by 4:30 p.m.
