Lafayette Greens is a downtown Detroit green space and urban garden. We welcome people of every age, creed and ability to come to Lafayette Greens to enjoy and relax in the space, get involved in educational opportunities and engage with other members of the community through the act of gardening.

How to Get Involved



Lafayette Greens hosts volunteer hours at the following times: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If these hours don't work for you, email us or stop by the garden and speak with a Lafayette Greens representative who will work with you to arrange alternative volunteer times.

There are many ways to get involved, including:

  1. On-site physical labor
  2. Education
  3. Organizing and distribution
  4. Garden ambassador
  5. Internship opportunities
